Pathways to Independence of Central Ohio is a 501(c)(3) non profit doggy daycare and boarding facility.
We provide opportunities for individuals with various disabilities to connect with our community in a purposeful, meaningful, and intentional environment. We strive to enrich our employees and our community by allowing a path for individuals with disabilities to be accepted and valued within our community.
Our doggy daycare is operated with the idea of inclusion for individuals with disabilities. They are gaining customer service skills, job skills, and communication skills with the help of our community. We encourage fellowship for those with and without disabilities at Pathways to help strengthen areas needed for obtaining employment, social engagement, and connecting with others in a meaningful way.
What makes Pathways different?? Our dogs receive love from a diverse population and learn how to interact with all types of people. Our dog clients also learn how to interact with those with disabilities to make having any disability a more common interaction and therefore more fluid and genuine. These relationships are our favorite!
Everyone deserves to lead a fulfilling life through employment, including individuals with disabilities. We welcome all disability types to join! Our person-centered approach will ensure all participants are enriched and successful.
We believe in using the best practices to teach our participants job skills. One of these methods include using actual job settings to create an employment atmosphere. We operate a fully functional dog day care center, which our individuals run in its entirety.
